It’s almost the end of September and to me that means it’s time to get the kids their flu shots. I like to be prepared and ready to fight against flu season. I had the flu once and that one time was enough for me! When it comes to my kids I am always extra careful about having them wash their hands often, cough into their elbow and get vaccinated to help fight the flu. I remember when Derek was 1 1/2 and I was pregnant with Hayley we waited in line over 4 hours to get the H1N1 vaccine. I was so scared for both Derek and my baby but I knew the safest thing to do was be sure we were vaccinated. Luckily the flu vaccine this year is easily available!! Even better news is that Text4baby, Rite Aid Pharmacy and Johnson & Johnson teaming up for a second consecutive year to help give moms access to free flu shots.
Text4baby, Rite Aid Pharmacy, and Johnson & Johnson joining forces and Starting September 18, moms enrolled in Text4baby will receive a text message offering the free flu shot. After replying yes, she’ll receive a coupon code that will allow her to redeem a free flu shot from any Rite Aid pharmacist. Last year, more than 2,000 Text4baby moms participated in this promotion. Flu shots are available while supplies last through February 28, 2014, and moms must be over 18 years of age to participate. Only the standard flu vaccine is available for this offer, and you can see your Rite Aid pharmacist for details. Help us spread the word this year so that even more moms have access to this critical vaccine! Tell moms and moms-to-be to text BABY to 511411 (or BEBE for Spanish) to sign up.
Moms enrolled in Text4baby will receive a text question starting September 18 asking if they want a free flu shot.
After replying “yes,” they will be sent a one-time, non-transferrable code they can use at their nearest Rite Aid store for a free flu shot.
Moms who misplace the code will be able to get it resent to them by texting “RESEND.”
