When it comes to decorating my kids rooms I know three things for sure Derek wants Superheroes, Hayley wants princesses and I don’t want anything over their beds that could potentially fall on them in the middle of the night. Once I found the Fathead site I immediately I knew that both kids would find their princesses, superheroes and then some there! Hayley and Derek would be thrilled with the huge variety of Disney and Justice League Fatheads and I would be thrilled that nothing would fall on them in their sleep!!
Derek’s Room
Recently we upgraded Derek’s bedroom. He went from hand me down Ikea-esque furniture to brand spanking new big boy furniture. He had a few requests too! Derek wanted a desk with a chair so he could do worksheets and build LEGOs! A bed with a pull out bed so Hayley could sleep in his room AND….Superheroes on the walls! One thing we knew we weren’t changing were the AWESOME superhero letters spelling out Derek on the wall. Having those helped Derek focus on what superheroes Fathead to choose. There were so many amazing options!!
Derek decided on the Justice League Fathead wall graphic and when we unrolled it he was in awe!!
Derek of course wanted the whole city on his wall but that wasn’t fitting so instead he bossed me around and very sweetly told me where he would like each “guy” and yes even the girls are “guys” to him!
Since both my kids are always together and they never leave one another out we OF COURSE had to do Hayley’s room too!! Our only problem with Hayley’s room is we are working on a bathroom construction project and can’t paint her room pink and purple (her request) until we are done with the bathroom. However, she is 3 1/2 and doesn’t understand waiting to hang her princesses. LUCKILY, Fathead wall decals are made with low-tack adhesive, so they are removable and reusable with no damage to the wall. We had to just make sure to clean the wall before we applied the Fathead, otherwise they won’t be able to be moved as many times. Also for future reference, I recommend keeping the sheet they come on, it’s the easiest way to transfer or move them – by placing them back on the sheet they came on.
Both Hayley and Derek woke up this morning THRILLED over their “new rooms!” Hayley asked if we could take her girls down and bring them to our vacation house and Derek told me he woke up, opened his eyes and was so happy to see his guys were protecting him from the bad guys!!!!!
It was SUPER EASY to install our Fathead. When you feel the thickness of the Fatheads you know you have quality wall adhesives!

HOW TO INSTALL A FATHEAD
Step 1: GET READY
Pick a spot. Fathead wall decals adhere well to smooth, indoor surfaces. Recommended and NOT recommended surfaces are listed below. You want to choose a RECOMMENDED surface.
Measure. You don’t want to start only to find out you don’t have enough room. The dimensions are printed on the same sheet as your Fathead decal.
Unwind and relax. If you’d been rolled up and stuck in a box you’d need to relax for a bit too. Lay flat for an hour prior to application.
(We’re talking about the decal, not you)
Step 2: GET CLEAN
You like clean sheets, Fathead decals like clean walls. Use a warm damp cloth to wipe down the surface and let it dry completely. DO NOT use soap or cleaning agents. They can make your decal stick poorly, which means it could fall down, and that’s just ugly.
Step 3: GET HELP
No need to call 911, just get a friend. This is important if you’re putting up one of our REAL.BIG. Fathead wall decals. Here’s why: you’ll start peeling the decal off the sheet when you realize it’s as big as you… and it’s sticky. When it sticks to itself, you’ll say something nasty, and then you’ll wish you had called that friend.
If you’re putting up Fathead Jr decals or other smaller Fathead products, then going solo is OK.
Step 4: GET IT ON
With help from that friend you called, start at the top of your Fathead decal and carefully peel it from its backing.
Place one corner on the wall and slowly smooth the rest into place using minimal pressure. If you make a mistake, gently peel the decal off the wall and reposition it. Take your time and you’ll do just fine.
REAL.BIG. Fathead wall decals come with a yellow plastic squeegee to help you get out any wrinkles or air bubbles. USE IT! Start from the middle of your decal and push out to the edges.
Keep the backing in case you want to move your decal to a new location.
Step 5: GET TOGETHER
Put your Fathead wall decal up in time for the big game, surprise your child with their renovated room or complete your fan cave. Whatever you choose to do with your Fathead decal, you’ve got to show it off! Invite your family and friends over for the big reveal and take a few pictures. - Freshly painted walls. Wait 30 days after painting before you put up your Fathead decal.
