Instagram Love

Do you have a favorite social media platform?  Slowly but surely Instagram has taken over the coveted number one spot previously held by Facebook.  After getting burnt out by the Facebook complaining and passive agressive status updates known as “vague booking” I decided to hide tons of people from my timeline in an effort to “take back” my Facebook feed and enjoy the photos of cute babies, kids and dogs!!  While doing this I realized, THIS is what Instagram is!  I no longer needed to read much (unless I wanted to do so) and instead I can enjoy photos!!  My brain enjoys photos more than lots of reading since I need to jump off in a seconds notice when my kids need me and such.

I also feel that Instagram has really made me want to up my photography skills.  At the moment I am loving my current set up with a Canon EOS Rebel.  My lens is a Sigma 18-250 which I LOVE LOVE LOVE.  The Sigma lens does everything I need; it zooms for soccer and take close-ups for cute kid photos.  I have an Eye-Fi Card which is a MUST HAVE for Instagram users.  No more iPhone photos.  Now you can take a photo on your camera and the Eye-Fi card will send it directly to your phone and NO CORDS Required!  I also just got this Neewer Flash Speedlite to try and help eliminate shadows on faces when taking outdoor photos.
